newyorkcitycaveman-deactivated2 asked: Ah, like a creep, I read some of the questions you answered. So I got from it you're a libertarian, which I like. I find that is the group I associate myself with best. Couldn't tell your stance on the last post however, in regards to abortion. I'm sure you're Pro-Choice. I think I read that somewhere here. So here's my question. What's your opinion on that post? Do...
heidisade:
But it’s…constitutional? It is the right of the government to subscribe me to their plans? You said it was constitutional, yes or no?
And thank God you don’t, because that would make things a little stickier.
I don’t know whether or not this legislation is unconstitutional. What I do know is that America does need health care reform, though it doesn’t...
doubtingmarcus asked: Isn't it ironic that someone saying they are a libertarian is complaining about what you post on your blog? Whether your blog "atheist" in the title or not they should be the one standing up for it right?
Well I am a libertarian, though most people would just call me a liberal, and I don't agree with everything you say politically but that's kind of the...

Expected? I’m sorry, but are you for real? I’m expected to pay for someone else’s shit? Aha, aha, no. Move to Europe, they’ll love you there.
Prove to me that Uncle Sam went through your personal documents, or any innocent and unsuspected civilian, and you win.
You’re not expected to pay for someone else’s shit. You’re expected to...
mowgli3 asked: D'aww. Thanks for sticking up for me, buddy. I appreciate it a lot.
ignatius-m asked: Heh. No complaints from me. I'm a leftist anyway, but I think Anon needs to realize just how much of the atheist community discussion off Tumblr is dominated by right wing Libertarians. I don't whine and complain about it, I just say my piece.
It's *obvious* that atheism isn't leftism. It's also kind of obvious that the right wingers need to let us have our...

Anonymous asked: Opinionated people telling you how to run your blog - tut tut. I can understand if they are paying some sort of subscription fee to view it, then they would have a say about the blogs contens but obviously they're not so really should keep their mouth shut. And if you had half a brain, you’d see that I just proved the more liberal tendency to contort and warp the truth so that the Constitution benefits their causes. The Patriot Act never demanded I pay extra moola into Big Brother’s pocket.
Are you sure you want to get involved in this? I’m not sure you understand what’s being said here, rather seeing what you’d like to see (:

Anonymous asked: rather spiteful, aren't you? You'd probably be taken a hell of a lot more seriously if you presented yourself in a manner better than, "If you’re getting your panties in such a fucking wad over your disagreeing with something I say." Rather strong words for a guy so confident and proud in his atheism that his blog has "anonymous" in the title. Protip: Friendly...
Anonymous asked: I don't come to your blog for political shit over healthcare.
Being atheist, for gay rights, etc. is NOT some sort of leftist-only thing. I'm a Libertarian and I find it nonsensical to see ramblings of something completely unrelated to religion on here. You're putting your blog at odds with those who happen to hold differing political views. That shouldn't HAVE...

Oh, so when the Patriot Act was created and people said it was unconstitutional, Conservatives said, “Well if you don’t have anything to hide, you don’t have anything to worry about!”
And now that the whole health care thing is a debate, Conservatives suddenly care about the Constitution? I see.
Oh, okay. Just clearing that all up.
You want to compare terrorism to...

newyorkcitycaveman-deactivated2 asked: Lol, well said. No, I'm a jerk. I like being right and being proven right so often, I won't argue if I feel it's pointless. Religion's become that.
LMAO yeah. I get angry and scream things out. I been meaning to work on that but I procrastinate a lot too. And yes. You're right that many fellow patriots tend to be well... a bit... uneducated. I'm not for that....

newyorkcitycaveman-deactivated2 asked: I'm actually real shaky about debating religion. Not because fear I'll be proven wrong but I find it nearly impossible to show a clear winner. I used to argue it. Sometimes I'd prove people wrong and other times some 40 year old (I'm not very old lol) would start flipping out on me about my faith. Anyway, no. That's not fun for me. It's annoying and a hassle. However,...

Atheist Challenge Day 15. Recommend a book. :)...
So freaking good, and it really puts the fallibility of the human mind when it comes to traumatizing events into perspective. Kinda makes a point for Carl Sagan. Also, I love tigers.
You should probably keep in mind that it’s just fiction. Like the idiot that I am, I bought it in the fiction section, and went on to read it completely convinced that it was a biography. It did, of course,...
I'm following some Christian blogs.
Not sure I’m following anybody who is Muslim. But fellow atheists, if you’re following Christian or Muslim (or any other religion) blogs that are respectable and open to debate, I’d like to know about them. As long as everything they post isn’t too tl;dr.
newyorkcitycaveman-deactivated2 asked: So I've been reading your blogs for a little while now. Interesting stuff. I won't lie and say I'm a changed man. Far from it. Still got the whole, "I'm right, you're wrong," concept in my head. However, I'll give you credit. You actually seem to know quite a bit about the things you argue. I was sorely tempted to answer you and actually argue a bit but...

newyorkcitycaveman:
Today. I read a post debating someone’s religious faith. I won’t say which. I don’t think it matters. It bugged me. Me, the world’s biggest asshole. Me, the guy who likes arguing politics and proclaiming his undying love for his country. In other words. Me. A Jerk.

He's a fairly well known comedian here in Australia and in the UK but not so much in the US (Though he did appear on Conan a couple of weeks ago). He's the one who really got me thinking about atheism because that's what the majority of his comedy is about (before him I...

The number one reason for atheism is the fact that Christians do not act as Christians should. If you live in God, others should be about to see it on the outside. Let it radiate. Share the good news of Christ. Want others to know the Lord as you do.

Honest answer: no. If they’re like a pantheist, or just some unaffiliated theist, then fine. But I don’t think I’d want to marry somebody who had a religion and was religious (I’ve had partners that “claimed” a religion but didn’t actually believe in it). Why?
I do not want to have to deal with the question of how we’re going to raise our children....

Evolution is science, and science is not religion. How the fuck does teaching evolution have ANYTHING to do with teaching Christianity? Also, it’s not about believing in evolution; it’s about accepting it as the fact that it is. If you can’t do that, you are blind to reality and intellectually dishonest. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Also, look up what the word “theory”...
